Hello LL,
After taking the Betty Blogger course I would have to say my knowledge is somewhere between a 7-8. I was not sure what to expect when I started the course but quickly found that there is so much more to learn and explore. I will go back and review what I have learned especially when I have more time to work at my own speed.
LL you were terrific! You were informative, funny and kept my interest during the whole learning process.
I found that the most challenging part was when the links did not work, because I thought maybe it was something I was doing wrong.
The self-directed learning model was convenient as I could work on the lessons as I had the time.
I would definitely recommend this to others!
Thanks for all your hard work and patience teaching us.
Regards

Library Thing was pretty neat. It keeps track of all your books. I would consider using it again in the future.

I will be bringing a delicious creamy coleslaw to the potluck picknic.
I found the wiki experience easy to use and straight foreward.
I actually do have need for this type of application as my son is renting a house with four other students, and it will come in handy coordinating what each one has to contribute for the year.

Picasa Web Albums
Good Morning All,
Sorry I am a bit behind, just catching up now.
I went into Picasa Web Albums and I thought it was pretty neat. All the pictures looked absolutely phenomenal. I chose a picture of sailboats racing, they were on their downward leg and therefore had spinnakers up. This photo was tagged under sailing and racing.
I will continue to use Picasa in the future, it is a great way of finding incredible photos of all subjects.

No Tweeting for Me.
I did not register for twitter because I am not a fan of microblogging. Updating people on my day to day tasks, moods and outings is not something that interests me.
I am a private individual for the most part (just disregard the blog for that point) and want to keep doing what I do to myself.
I am skeptical of social networking because I grew up with only a few of my closest friends knowing what was going on in my life; not thousands of internet "friends".
With social networking one makes themself susceptible to unwanted lurking.

My Adventures with Diigo
I recently found a new website called Diigo. It allows you to bookmark various websites as well as create descriptions and tags for the website.
I chose to bookmark www.sailinganarchy.com
It is tagged under blogs, sailing, anarchy and boats to name a few.
I am learning slowly and trying to familiarize myself with Diigo, so at this point I am not sure if I will continue to use Diigo.

Boy oh boy, did I ever enjoy my youtube experience. I believe that streaming has become so popular because of people like me, and blogs like this. I wish that I could have had the resources necessary to put my two very adorable, and might I add hilarious boys on the internet. Now that we have the technology to share information and humerous videos wide spread across the internet, I will be continuing to use youtube. I say this because I don't want to be the only person on the internet not viewing youtube.
Enjoy reader(s) anyone out there?
Until next time

My favorite strawberry rhubarb pie!
I have always been looking for that perfect pie! The store bought ones never seem to meet my family's expectations and so I decided to venture out and make my own. I came across one in my mothers book of recipes that my family can not seem to get enough of. As you guessed from the title, it is my favorite strawberry rhubarb pie. The secret is the quick cooking tapioca used to thicken the filling.
I have three males in my house, two young adult males and my husband. My husband likes to eat his desert for breakfast in the morning with a cup of coffee and unfortunately the last two pies I have made never made it to his lips. Our boys have devoured the whole thing! Oh well as the saying goes "you snooze you lose!" I guess I will just have to make another tonight.
I am feeling generous today so I will share my mom's recipe with you.
Here it is!
1 1/4 cup sugar
3 Tbsp minute tapioca
3 cups rhubarb
2cups sliced strawberries
2Tbsp butter
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
dash salt
Stir together sugar, tapioca, nutmeg, salt. Add fruit and let stand 15min
Fill a pastry lined pie plate with the fruit mixture and dot with the butter
Top with the other half of the pastry crust and seal the edges. I always brush a bit of milk over the top of the pastry and sprinkle with sugar before placing in the oven. Slit the top of the pastry to let pie vent while cooking. Make a foil collar to place over edge of pie so the edges will not burn. Bake @ 375 for 25 min, remove collar and continue baking for another 25min.
I hope you enjoy this as much as my family does!
